What Happened
In May 2022, the now-defunct social media influencer platform WiredBucks suffered a data breach that exposed over 918,000 user accounts. The breach compromised sensitive personal information including email addresses, IP addresses, full names, usernames, physical addresses, earnings data, and passwords stored in plain text. The incident was not discovered and added to breach databases until June 2025, nearly three years after it occurred. The exposed data posed significant security risks to affected users, including potential phishing attacks, identity theft, and unauthorized account access due to the plain text password exposure.
