optimizerai.xyz data breach

optimizerai.xyz

What Happened

In February 2026, threat actor “korea” breached the database of OptimizerAI (optimizerai.xyz), a US-based AI sound effects generator backed by investors like Andreessen Horowitz, exposing 118,000 unique user records and over 1.1 million AI-generated audio files, which were posted for free download on an underground forum on March 3, 2026. The leaked user data uniquely linked Google accounts (emails, UIDs, avatars) with Discord profiles (IDs, usernames, nicknames, handles, avatars, emails, registration dates, and newsletter status), compromising anonymity for indie game developers, animators, and video editors who integrated the platform via Discord. The audio files, previously sold commercially as royalty-free assets, undermined the subscription model (starting at $3/month) and potentially exposed creators’ intellectual property. OptimizerAI issued no public comment, and the site remained operational as of early March 2026, with experts classifying it as medium-severity due to risks like social engineering, credential stuffing, and cross-platform identity theft.
