What Happened
DealPlexus experienced a database breach discovered on December 13, 2024, carried out by the ransomware group Funksec. The breach exposed 28,503 user records containing comprehensive personally identifiable information (PII), including email addresses and other personal data. Funksec, a double extortion ransomware group that emerged in late 2024, used this breach as part of their strategy to steal data and threaten to leak it unless ransom demands were met.
