What Happened
BeBunk was hit by a March 2026 cyberattack in which an intruder reportedly accessed a server used to monitor app activity, exposing customer data such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, account information, and some banking details; reports said around 11,000 customers in New Caledonia and several hundred in French Polynesia and Wallis-et-Futuna could be affected, while later breach listings claimed 12,324 unique customers and included IBANs, KYC/compliance data, balances, and tokens. The company said it detected and fixed the flaw quickly and warned customers about phishing and fraud attempts.
