What Happened
LenDenClub Data Breach (December 2023) LenDenClub, India’s major peer-to-peer lending platform, suffered a significant data breach on December 25, 2023, affecting over 22 million users. The breach exposed sensitive personal and financial information including hashed passwords, full names, phone numbers, email addresses, and complete birthdates. Threat actors claimed to have accessed 84 GB of data containing over 22 million user IDs and loan statements. The exposed data presented substantial risks for identity theft, financial fraud, and phishing attacks.
