What Happened
In October 2024, Grayscale Investments, a leading cryptocurrency asset manager, suffered an alleged data breach where a threat actor claimed to have stolen a database containing approximately 693,635 user records, including sensitive information such as user IDs, statuses, full names, job titles, company names, email addresses, phone numbers, and personal sources. The incident was first disclosed on a hacking forum and reported via a post on X by user H4ckManac, exposing users to risks like identity theft and phishing attacks, though Grayscale has neither confirmed nor denied the claims and is reportedly investigating. Cybersecurity experts urge affected individuals to change passwords, enable multi-factor authentication, and monitor accounts for suspicious activity amid broader concerns over data security in the crypto sector.
