Fibertel data breach

Fibertel

What Happened

In July 2025, approximately 2.7 million customer records from Fibertel Argentina, an ISP, were leaked on the dark web forum darkforums.st by user injectioninferno2, marking the company’s first known major data breach. The exposed dataset, titled “Database Fibertel Argentina,” contained sensitive personal information including full names, gender, nationality, document numbers, CUIL (Argentine tax ID), phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses (street, city, Salta province), regions/branches (e.g., CENTRO, SALTA), service channels (e.g., VENTANILLA, DEBITO AUTOMATICO), and ISP details. The structured data, spanning ~2,736,784 records from multiple provinces, originated from Fibertel’s internal customer database—likely billing, CRM, or service systems—rather than public scraping, posing risks like phishing, identity theft, and targeted scams. No prior Fibertel breaches were found in media or leak histories.
