What Happened
In April 2025, EasyCash, a French second-hand goods retailer, suffered a data breach that exposed personal information of approximately 92,000 customers and employees. The attack originated from a compromised point-of-sale system at one of the company’s stores on April 16, 2025, which allowed hackers to access customer data. The stolen data included names, first names, and dates of birth, but did not include banking information, passwords, or account credentials. EasyCash confirmed that no fraudulent activity had been detected at the time of notification, and the company informed all affected customers of the incident.
