Jobandtalent data breach

Jobandtalent

What Happened

In February 2018, specifically around February 1, the employment platform Jobandtalent suffered a data breach when unauthorized actors accessed its user database, compromising information from approximately 11 million accounts (precisely 11,071,953 records). Exposed data included users’ full names, email addresses, IP addresses from registration or last login, and passwords stored as salted SHA-1 hashes, though no financial or payment details were affected. The breach remained undetected by the company for about a year until a hacker alias Gnosticplayers offered the stolen data for sale on the dark web marketplace Dream Market in early 2019 alongside other unreported breaches, prompting public disclosure and verification by services like Have I Been Pwned in January 2021.
